Five Sheridan College Rodeo Competitors Place In Top 7 At 2024 Eastern WY College Rodeo Event

Sheridan College bull rider Wyatt Phelps led the way for the Generals at the second spring rodeo of the season over the weekend.

Phelps won both rounds and the average, moving him to third place in the current Central Rocky Mountain Region standings. 

Phelps scored 82 points in the first round and 76 in the final round.
 
SC saddle bronc rider, Clancy Glenn scored 75 points on his first ride of the weekend, earning fourth place.

Teammate Chris Nelson scored a 66, which earned him a trip to the final round on Sunday.

Both cowboys completed a successful ride in the second round. Glenn scored 62 points, earning seventh in the round and sixth in the average.

Nelson was fifth in the final round with a 67-point ride, placing seventh in the average.
 
SC bareback rider Davis Otto made a 58 point ride on his first horse, earning him a second one on Sunday.

In the final round, Otto scored a 71 which tied for fourth place and put him seventh in the average.

SC barrel racer Faith Heim had another successful weekend.

Heim had a time of 16.11 seconds in the first round, earning her the tenth spot in the final round on Sunday.

Her run on Sunday was the fastest of the day, a 15.64 placed first in the final round and put her fifth in the average.

Sheridan College Women’s Rodeo Team is currently ranked ninth in the Central Rocky Mountain Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association and the Men’s team is tenth in the region.

Three more rodeos remain in the spring season, and next weekend the teams will travel to Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. April 5-7.
