Sheridan HS Grad Golfer To Play In 2025 Junior America’s Cup Event

For the second time in her career, Black Hills State University women’s golf incoming freshman, Shelbi Gardner, has qualified for the Junior America’s Cup and will represent Team Wyoming.
The event will be held at the Kierland Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, on July 22-24 with 12 teams from the western United States and others from Canada and Mexico.
Gardner, who was the WHSAA Class 4A State Runner-Up in the fall of 2024, qualified through the Wyoming State Golf Association’s junior amateur tournament at Gillette’s Bell Nob Golf Course, June 16-18.
She carded a 54-hole score of 249 (+33) for second place in the event, which included a first round total of 87 (+15), a second round total of 83 (+11), and a third round total of 79 (+7).
One year ago, she was the second-best finisher for Team Wyoming at the 2024 Junior America’s Cup, hosted at the Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah, as she posted a 54-hole score of 257 (+41) for 68th against some of the top competition nationally and internationally.
