Sheridan/Buffalo HS Soccer: The Sheridan High School boys soccer team will join the girls at next weekend’s state tournament.
The Broncs defeated Cheyenne South yesterday 7-nil in an elimination game in the 4A East Regional Tournament played at Thunder Basin High School.
The boys will play in the semi-finals today against the host team at 1pm.
The Bolts survived a shootout vs. Cheyenne East to advance.
The other semi-final is at 5pm between Cheyenne Central and Campbell County.
The Indians received a first bye, while the Camels survived their own shootout vs. Laramie yesterday.
Today’s winners will play each other tomorrow in the regional championship game, while today’s losers will play each other tomorrow for 3rd place.
On the girls side, the Lady Broncs received a first round bye and will play in the semi-finals today at 3pm vs. Campbell County, who needed overtime to beat Cheyenne East yesterday.
The other semi-final is at 11am between Laramie and Thunder Basin, who eliminated Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne South respectively yesterday.
Like the boys, today’s winners will play each other tomorrow and today’s losers will do the same.
Meanwhile, Buffalo will conclude their 3A regular season today at Worland.
Both the Bison and Lady Bison have already qualified for the state tournament.
Sheridan HS Softball: Sheridan needs 2 wins today or 1 today and 1 tomorrow to qualify for the state tournament, in just their first year of existence.
Today and tomorrow is the North Regional Tournament, which will be played in Casper.
The Lady Broncs will take on the host team, Natrona County at 11am.
Regardless of outcome they will play again at 3pm against either Kelly Walsh or Worland.
It just all depends on which teams win and lose in the first game.
If Sheridan wins both games today, they will qualify for the state tournament and play for the regional championship tomorrow.
If the team splits today’s games, then they have to win a 10am game tomorrow to qualify.
If the Lady Broncs lose both of today’s games, then the season is over.
Sheridan/Johnson County HS Track and Field: Sheridan and Johnson County teams will compete at the regional meets today and tomorrow.
Sheridan will be at the 4A East meet at Campbell County, while Buffalo is hosting the 3A East meet.
Big Horn, Tongue River, Arvada-Clearmont and Kaycee will be at the 2A and 1A East Regional Meet in Torrington.

Sheridan Troopers Legion Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers lost a non-conference game last night at home vs. Gillette 9-5.
The team will play a double-header tomorrow at Powell starting at 3pm and another double-header on Sunday at Cody beginning at 11am.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were off yesterday and will start a 3-game series today at Arizona.
First pitch today is scheduled for 7:40pm.
Tomorrow’s game starts at 6:40pm and Sunday’s game begins at 2:10pm.
The Rocks return home on Monday to start a 7-game homestand with 4 vs. Philadelphia, followed by 3 vs. the New York Yankees.
Denver Nuggets Basketball: The Denver Nuggets stayed alive and forced a game 7 in their best of 7 western conference semi-final series vs. Oklahoma City.
The Nuggets won Game 6 at home last night 119-107.
Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday at Oklahoma City, starting at 1:30pm.
NHL Playoffs: Carolina won last night at Washington 3-1, to eliminate the top seed from the East, 4-games-to-1.
Winnipeg stayed alive winning at home vs. Dallas 4-zip, but trail in the series 3-2.
