Lyla Marney Of Big Horn Sets New 2A Girls Record At State Track and Field Meet: A Big Horn High School runner has already won multiple state titles in only her freshman year and has put herself into the record books.
At the State Track and Field Meet about 2 weeks ago, Lyla Marney set a new 2A Girls Record in the 3200 meter run with a time of 11 minutes 22.75 seconds.
She also won the 1600 meter run and was 2nd in the 800 meter run.
Marney says her schedule at the state meet was a busy one, and talks about her approach to each race.
Marney is also the 2A Girls Cross Country State Champ.
Ryder Charest Of Sheridan HS Wins 4A Boys 800 Meter Run At State Track Meet: Sheridan had a long distance runner who had a pretty good state championship weekend as well.
Sophomore Ryder Charest won the 4A Boys 800 meter run with a time of 1 minute 52.44 seconds.
He was also the last runner on the Broncs’ 1600 Sprint Medley Relay Team which finished 1st.
Charest says going up against Jase Burton of Star Valley in the 800 meter run was going to be a challenge and he was up for it.
He was also 3rd in the 1600 meter run and was part of Sheridan’s 4 by 800 meter relay team which finished 2nd.
Sheridan/Buffalo Legion Baseball: Both the Sheridan Troopers and the Buffalo Bulls will be on the road to play in their first tournament of the season.
Sheridan will play in Rapid City where they will take on the Billings 406 Flyers tomorrow.
On Friday, the team will take on Chadron, Nebraska as well as Sturgis, South Dakota.
Saturday’s opponent is Gering, Nebraska and Sunday’s opponent is to be announced.
Buffalo will play in a wood bat tournament in Torrington.
On Friday they take on Rocky Mountain out of Fort Collins, Colorado and will also play Riverton.
On Saturday, they’ll go up against Alliance, Nebraska and the host team.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: For the first time this season, the Colorado Rockies will win a series against an opponent.
The team made it 2 in a row last night at Miami, winning 3-2.
Hunter Goodman’s solo home run in the top of the 8th ended up being the difference.
The Rocks will try for the sweep today, starting at 10:10am.
Tomorrow is an off day on the schedule, and then the team will return home to start a 6-game homestand, beginning on Friday with 3 against the New York Mets, followed by 3 vs. San Francisco.
NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Today is Game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals, between Florida and Edmonton.
The puck drops at 6pm.
These 2 teams played each other last year in a 7-game classic, with the Panthers getting the win.
This time around, the Oilers are the team that has the home ice advantage.
