Morning Sports: June 6, 2025
Wyoming High School Rodeo Finals: The first of 3 days of the Wyoming High School State Finals Rodeo at the Johnson County Fairgrounds in Buffalo is complete, as competitors are trying to move their way into the top 4 of the season standings and qualify for next month’s High School National Finals Rodeo.
Those who competed last night will have their 2nd run this morning at 9am, and those who had their turn yesterday morning will go again at 6pm.
Tomorrow’s final round starts at 9:30am.
The High School National Finals Rodeo is next month in Rock Springs.
Sheridan Troopers Baseball: The Sheridan Troopers won yesterday in their first game at the Veterans Classic in Rapid City, in walk-off fashion against the Billings 406 Flyers 7-6.
Griffen Switzenberg did the honors with a single in the bottom of the 7th inning.
The Troopers will play 2 games this morning, starting at 9 o’clock vs. Chadron, Nebraska, and again at 11:30 vs. Sturgis, South Dakota.
Next week Thursday and Friday, the team will host its annual Baseball Camp and Whiffleball Tournament for those ages 7-14.
Events run from 9am until 12-noon at Thorne Rider Stadium.

On Sunday, June 15th, it’s Little League Night at the Troopers’ game.
Teams and players will be recognized and get to run the bases in between games.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies were off yesterday.
The Rocks start a 6-game homestand today with 3 vs. the New York Mets.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:40pm.
Tomorrow’s game starts at 7:40pm and Sunday’s game at 1:10pm.
NBA Finals: Indiana trailed by as much as 15 points, and trailed by 9 with a little less than 3 minutes to go last night, in Game 1 of the NBA Finals at Oklahoma City.
The Pacers would close out the game on a 12-2 run and Tyrese Halliburton got the winning basket with 0.3 seconds remaining, to stun the Thunder 111-110.
Game 2 is Sunday.
NHL Stanley Cup Finals: Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals is today at Edmonton.
The puck drops at 6pm and the Oilers lead 1-game-to-none.
Game 3 is Monday at Florida.
