I have spent so many hours just hearing her stories and listening to her amazing and fun points of view about everything – all quality time spent. What a dear soul she was. I will miss bumping into her and having her brighten my day with stories and poems.

Dorothy was such a wonderful friend to my mother, Eve Sawyer. They had many fun times together and I so enjoyed talking with Dorothy and hearing her perspective on life. She will be dearly missed.

    To my neighbor Dorothy’s family,
Dear Dorothy lived across the fence and caddycornered to me, (our backyards joined) both of us living in the Highland Townhouses…she on Burton and myself on Easy St. Each evening when her lights turned on, I thought of her gracious kindness and I felt safe! I rarely got to visit with her other than at the townhouse meetings and once in a while I nibbled on the raspberrys that hung over her fence. I will miss her!!
“Eternal rest grant unto Dorothy, O’ Lord. And let perpetal light shine upon her.” Amen

I am sad so see that Dorothy is gone from this earth; she will be in a happier place! Dorothy (and Jim) were some of the first people we met in Sheridan as Jim worked for the same firm as Ross. Later, Dorothy and I worked at SC; her programming for the Community was always a good match for what the people of Sheridan found interesting. Dorothy was also a valued fellow member of St. Peters. Wherever she went, Dorothy brought good cheer and friendship and a fresh perspective; she will be missed!
