Judith Serena Abbott was born on December 26, 1935, in Washington D.C. to John and Mildred Abbott.  She was raised on a farm in New Jersey where she lived with her mother, step-father, and two brothers. In later years she met her biological father and had four good years of knowing him before he died. Judy had one son, David McCauley. They lived in Phoenix, Arizona where she worked for the US Postal Service until she retired.  Judy earned her pilot’s license, along with an instrument rating while in Phoenix.  When she retired and sold her home in Arizona she and her four Husky dogs started a road trip.  She said, “I didn’t know where I was going but I never felt so free in my life.”  Her itinerant traveling life led her to Buffalo and she soon knew small-town life suited her. It was then that Buffalo became her headquarters, and her trips became shorter, replaced by camping in the Big Horn Mountains with her dog Peewee.  Judy worked as an ambulance volunteer, she made visits to the Senior Center; she loved western movies and anything to do with wolves.  She was also alert to travelers in trouble and willingly bought gas to help them along their way.  Judy also loved writing poetry. She is survived by her cousin Jane Renfro of Arlington, Virginia; her very special friend, Dollie Iberlin of Buffalo, and special friends from Las Vegas and Buffalo.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
