July 2021 Wyoming Unemployment Numbers Drop Statewide

Unemployed individuals dropping out of the labor force is the main reason why Wyoming’s unemployment numbers fell from June to July this year, according to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.

The state’s unemployment rate fell from 5.4% to 5.2% and rates dropped in all 23 counties.

The county with the lowest unemployment rate for July 2021 was Teton, which was at 2.9%.

Natrona and Sweetwater counties tied for the highest unemployment rate for July 2021 at 5.8% each.

Sheridan County had a 4.1% unemployment rate for July 2021.

That’s down from 5.1% in both June 2021 and July 2020.

Johnson County’s unemployment rate for July 2021 was at 3.4%.

That’s down from 6.1% in July 2020, and down from 4.7% in June 2021.

Campbell County’s unemployment rate for July 2021 was at 5.5%.

That’s down from 9.2% for July 2020, and down from 6.9% in June 2021.

The Department says total nonfarm employment in Wyoming, between July of 2020 and July 2021, increased by more than 10,000 jobs.
