Sheridan College Board Of Trustees Extended President’s Contract Until 2029

The Sheridan College President will stay on board for a few more years.

Recently the College Board of Trustees voted to extend the contract of President Dr. Walter Tribley by 2 years, through September 1st, 2029.

He started the position in July of 2019.

Board Chairman Tracy Swanson says Dr. Tribley has been very instrumental in helping keep the College’s finances in the black through situations such as the COVID pandemic and the Gillette College separation process.

“We’re very confident in Dr. Tribley. He’s done a good job, he’s been very financially strong for us in running the college and so with the election of new trustees, still separating from Gillette, there maybe a call for him to stay longer than what he wants to stay and so we just want to make sure that’s available to us.”

Dr. Tribley says last month the Higher Education Commission approved Gillette College’s candidacy to become an accredited learning institution.

The Commission will soon evaluate and review the College’s performance.

It’s possible that accreditation could be granted as early as fall of next year.
