Bighorn National Forest Temporary Closure Near Sibley Lake Lifted

Published

on

The Bighorn National Forest has announced the logging-related activity in the timber sale south of Sibley Lake has moved away from the popular hiking area near Sibley Lake, prompting the lift of the area closure. The BNF urges visitors to be aware of continued activity such as limited log hauling, road maintenance, and the lopping and scattering of slash by sawyers.

The BNF requests for your safety, please remain vigilant and do not enter areas where timber sale work is occurring. Active timber sales often involve large, dangerous, mechanized equipment, and operators may not be able to see you. Cooperation helps keep the public and workers safe.

For questions, contact the Bighorn National Forest at 307-674-2600 or SM.FS.bighorninfo@usda.gov.  Follow the BNF on X (@BighornNF) or like them on Facebook (US Forest Service – Bighorn National Forest).
