SCSD#3 Board of Trustees Approve 2026-27 Budget

At the July 15 meeting the SCSD#3 board of trustees moved to approve the budget as presented by Business Manager Greg Rohrer in the budget hearing that preceded the regular meeting.

Adam Georgeson, Special Education Teacher and Assistant Director, talked to the board about summer school. He said this was his third year doing summer school and said that teachers recommend which students need additional instruction.

He added that no elementary students attended summer school, and they are adding something new this year.

He said that the additional instruction over the summer, the students feel more confident coming back to school in the fall.

In action items the board approved the Resignation of 7-12 Science Teacher Kiley McConnell and approved to hire Anna Rolfs to fill the position

The board also approved to hire Timmothy Tanner District Transportation Supervisor; Diana Elmer as Food Service Supervisor/Custodial Position; Cheyann Pehringer as District Librarian/Sub Teacher and Kelley Glackin who will provide school nursing services for the 2026–2027 School Year.

The board also voted to approve to change the time for board meetings from 7 pm to 6 pm and approved to allow interim Superintendent Jennifer Strong to appoint a ¼-Time Dean of Students, the members also approved a motion to repaint the gym walls.
