Sheridan Man Sentenced to Prison for Probation Revocation
A 22-year-old Sheridan man was sentenced to prison for violating terms of his probation. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
On May 31, 2024, Elijah Buller was sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison for the charge of sexual exploitation of a child – possession of child pornography. The sentence was suspended in favor of four years of supervised probation. At a hearing in Fourth Judicial District Court on July 6, Buller admitted to the State’s allegations that he’d violated the terms and conditions of his probation by having an unauthorized cellular phone, purchasing alcohol, leaving Sheridan County without permission from his probation officer and having contact with a 16-year-old girl through text messaging.
At a disposition hearing this week, District Court Judge Ben Kirven imposed the underlying 3 to 5 year prison sentence and recommended that Buller take part in the Youthful Offender Transition program through the Wyoming Department of Corrections. If Buller successfully completes the 9 to 12 month program, he can petition the Court to have his sentence reduced.

Why would this person receive any leniency, he’s already proven that he’s unable to resist his perversion. Completing this course will not change his behavior, it will simply look good on his record. The rate of returning to the previous behavior after taking the course overall, comparing statistics of others that have completed the same or similar, is extremely high. Have intensive psychotherapy combined with Mandatory medication with forced compliance for monthly urinalysis to ensure compliance. That may be key in safely allowing him back into society with a fair chance for the safety of his preferred targeted audience. Have him do all of this, serve the entire sentence, and keep everyone’s children safe! Of course by the intention of the Judge it is doubtful that any of these additional steps that I have outlined will be addressed, after his release we can only try to keep his perversion away from our children. Everyone, Parents or otherwise, needs to put pressure on the Judges and Courts to take the initiative to stop this insanity and protect all of the children from this type of person. Call every Politician, District Attorney, Council Members, Mayors, whoever you can think of to put pressure on the Justice System that is failing to follow through on this problem that all to often never go see s away!

First of all: The title of these inmate “Sentences” are misleading as by the end of the articles, the inmate is actually NEVER SENTENCED!!! Their “Sentence” is dropped for probation which isn’t actually a “Sentence”: it’s a slap on the hand to become a “repeat offender”: which is the case more times than not anymore: not even on the 2nd or 3rd offense: not even on sexual offenses, including sexual offenses to children!!!! It’s despicable and it’s embarrassing to know how many felonies including sexual perverts or violators there actually are that get to keep on living on the streets, repeating these offenses. What about THE VICTIMS!!!???!!!
How many serious or felony law violations need to happen before REAL, SERIOUS, DUE PUNISHNENT ACTUALLY HAPPENS; especially to innocent others??:::Like PRISON TIME???!!!??? NOW THAT would be a “SENTENCE!!!!”
