Bighorn National Forest Temporary Closure Near Sibley Lake Lifted

Published

on

The Bighorn National Forest Service announced Friday that the temporary closure near Sibley Lake has been lifted. According to the Forest Service, logging-related activity in the timber sale south of Sibley Lake has moved away from the popular hiking area near the lake, prompting the lift of the area closure.

Be aware of continued activity such as limited log hauling, road maintenance, and the lopping and scattering of slash by sawyers. For your safety, please remain vigilant and do not enter areas where timber sale work is occurring. Active timber sales often involve large, dangerous equipment, and operators may not be able to see you.
