Learn to Use Native Plants for Landscaping

Gardening in Northern Wyoming can be challenge. The growing season is short, late and early frosts are common, and the dry, hot climate is not always the best for many plants. One way to have a beautiful yard is to explore the use of native plants.

Native plants support native pollinators, conserve water, and thrive in Wyoming’s often harsh climate. To learn more, join the Sheridan Community Land Trust for a Discovery Session on Wednesday, August 5, from 6:00–7:30 p.m.

The program will be held in the SCLT Community Rooms, 14 Lane Ln. and will explore how native plants and flowers can transform your home landscape. Experts from Piney Island Native Plants and Piney Island Conservation Services will share practical tips for incorporating native species into your yard, garden, or outdoor space while highlighting the benefits they provide for wildlife, pollinators, soil health, and water conservation.

Whether you’re planning a complete landscape makeover or simply looking to add a few native plants to your garden, this program will help you get started.
