SCSD#3 Board Appoints Rohrer as Acting Superintendent
At their May 13 meeting the SCSD#3 Board of Trustees, in a three-two vote, approved to exercise the ‘termination without cause‘ clause in the 2026–2029 superintendent contract for Superintendent Chase Christensen, who has been with the district for the past four years.
Due to his termination, two board members who voted against the termination, Chairman Kelly Little and Board Treasurer Deborah Guyer, resigned their positions on the board.
On May 16, in a less than 20-minute special board meeting, the board moved to approve the appointment of an acting superintendent, Greg Rohrer, who is currently the school business manager; accept the approval of the resignations of the two board members, and approve the resignation of Mike Buss, maintenance supervisor; and Aubrey Holland, food service supervisor/custodian.
The board also voted to approve to post a notice to accept applications for the current positions left vacant by those who resigned, as well as accepting applications to fill the vacancy for a transportation supervisor.
Around 20 community members attended the meeting, but public comments were not on the agenda due to it being a special meeting for the purpose of approving the above-mentioned changes in the school staff.
Not board members have yet come forward to talk about the reason why Christensen was terminated.
