SCLT Discovery Session: Women’s Backcountry Skills & Trail Running
The Sheridan Community Land Trust is inviting you to expand your playground and your comfort zone by joining Jody Sanborn for a two-part women’s backcountry skills and trail running Discovery Session designed to help participants feel more prepared, informed, and confident exploring the backcountry.
According to SCLT, this series focuses on practical, real-world skills that support safer, more confident trail running in the backcountry and offers value for both newer and seasoned runners.
A major focus of the first session is “What’s in your pack?”, a hands-on discussion about preparation, essential gear, and decision-making for backcountry trail running, with the second session building on this foundation through movement on trail and application of skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.
This Discovery Session is all inclusive, all paces welcome: runners, joggers, hikers. All ability levels are welcome, regardless of previous experience. The objective is to empower anyone identifying as a woman with the tools and confidence to expand their trail running into the backcountry.
A Classroom Session will take place 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, in the SCLT Community Rooms located at 14 Lane Ln. in Sheridan.
The Outdoor Session takes place at 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at the Red Grade Trails Base Trailhead.
This Discovery Session is free to attend. Click here to learn more about SCLT Discovery Sessions.
