Playing each other for a 5th time this season, the Sheridan Broncs and the Kelly Walsh Trojans left it on the floor in the 4A Boys 3rd Place Game.
KW scored the first 5 points of the 3rd OT, and held on to beat the Broncs 70-68, for their 4th win in the head-to-head series.
Not only did the game come down to free throws, it was also decided by how often each team got to the charity stripe.
Sheridan was 10 of 14 for the game, including 8 of 10 in the 3 overtime sessions.
Kelly Walsh was 20 of 31, including 14 of 20 in the extra time.
Reed Rabon led the Broncs with 17 points.
Sean Sanders contributed with 14, Alex Sanders with 13 and Kaden Bateson with 12.
It was Alex who scored the tying lay-up ahead of the buzzer, to force the 3rd overtime.
The Trojans also had 4 players score in double figures.
Davis Crilly led the way with a double-double (18 points, 15 rebounds).
Caden Allaire and Tyler Pacheco scored 14 points each, and Gunnar Browning put in 13.
Sheridan’s season ends with a record of 19-8.
