Sheridan and Big Horn competed at the Gillette Invitational, Tongue River had the weekend off, and Arvada-Clearmont started quadrant play in the 1A Northeast.
The Sheridan Lady Broncs went 2-4 at the Gillette Invitational.
The team started off Friday by losing to Rapid City, SD Stevens 2-0 (25-14, 25-14), and then lost to Scottsbluff, NE 2-0 (25-20, 25-21), but defeated Cheyenne Central 2-0 (27-25, 25-21).
That put the Lady Broncs in the Silver Bracket on Saturday, where they defeated Glenrock 2-0 (25-15, 25-14), then lost to Buffalo 2-1 (21-25, 25-22, 15-4), and then lost to Douglas 2-0 (25-19, 25-23), to finish 2-4 on the weekend.
Sheridan has an overall record of 4-8, and will start 4A Northeast quadrant play on Friday, September 10th at Kelly Walsh, then play in their home opener on Saturday vs. Cody beginning at 2pm.
Big Horn was also at the Gillette Invitational and went 2-2 on the weekend.
On Friday, the Lady Rams lost to Glenrock 2-1 (21-25, 26-24, 16-14), and Laramie 2-0 (25-11, 25-10).
Playing in the Bronze bracket on Saturday, BH had a first round bye, then defeated Wheatland 2-1 (28-30, 25-21, 15-10) and then won the bracket championship by defeating Gering, NE 2-0 (27-25, 25-20).
Big Horn’s overall record is now 5-5.
Tongue River did not play this past weekend.
The Lady Eagles currently have a record of 2-2-1/
Arvada-Clearmont played 2 quadrant games vs. 1A Northeast opponents.
The Lady Panthers dropped both matches 3-0 vs. Upton (Thursday) and Midwest (Saturday).
Friday’s scheduled match vs. Ten Sleep was postponed.
BH, TR, and AC are all scheduled to compete at the Big Horn Invitational this weekend (September 10-11).
