Morning Sports: September 24, 2026
Sheridan County HS Volleyball: Tonight is a big night on the volleyball court at one Sheridan County High School, involving 2 Sheridan County High School teams.
Tongue River visits Big Horn in what will be their only head-to-head meeting this season.
Since TR is now a 3A team, the Lady Eagles do not have as much room on their schedule for non-conference games.
Last year, the Lady Eagles and Lady Rams played twice and the visiting team won each time.
The last meeting was at BH.
Start time is scheduled for 7pm.
Also today, Sheridan is on the road to take on undefeated and 2-time defending 4A State Champ Kelly Walsh.
That match is scheduled to get under way at 6pm.
Big Horn High School Golf: The 2A State Golf Meet took place the past 2 days in Evanston, with Kemmerer serving as the host team.
The Big Horn boys placed 3rd, thanks to the efforts of sophomores William Byrd and Trevin Skinner who finished in a 3-way tie for 4th.
On the girls side Claire Guinotte was 7th individually, but the Lady Rams did not have enough golfers for a team score.
Wyoming High School State Tennis: The 3-day state meet starts today in Gillette.
Competition all 3 days is scheduled to begin at 8am.
All championship and 3rd place matches will take place on Saturday.
All other rounds will take place before then.
Matches will be held at either Campbell County High School, Thunder Basin High School, or the Gillette Indoor Facility, depending on the weather.

The Sheridan boys are the defending state champs.
Ben Bujans was 3rd in #1 singles.
The girls placed 5th last year.
Tongue River/Big Horn HS Football: All of the Sheridan County teams play on the road tomorrow.
For the second year in a row, Tongue River will travel to Wheatland, which ended up being their only win last year.
Head Coach Steve Hanson says the players remember and that gives them confidence that they can do it again, but the opposition remembers as well.
Kickoff in Wheatland is scheduled for 6pm.
Meanwhile Big Horn will head to Moorcroft for 2A East Conference play.
The Rams are 3-0 on the season so far, while the Wolves are winless in 3 tries.
BH Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin says the opposition is one of the better rushing teams in Class 2A, but the maroon and gold will still continue to play their game.
Kickoff at Moorcroft is scheduled for 6pm.
