Sheridan Jets Legion Baseball: Sometimes in sports, you can only play the cards that are dealt to you, maybe you’ll catch a team trying to recover from a loss, and you might get misjudged by your opponent.

All of those scenarios were what the Sheridan Jets Legion Baseball Team experienced at the recent State Tournament.

In all 3 of their wins, they beat a team that had lost the day before.

The only 2 opponents that took the team seriously were the Sheridan Troopers, and State Champ Cheyenne Post 6.

Head Coach Brian Fritz says when you got nothing to lose, being misjudged comes with the turf.

The Jets’ season will continue at the Northwest Class A Regional Tournament in Casper, beginning one week from today.

The team will take on the A-League State Champs from Idaho and Utah, as well as the Oregon Runner-Up.

The top 2 teams in each pool, after every team has played 3 games, will advance to a 4-team single elimination bracket for the championship.

Other teams participating are the state champs from Oregon, Alaska and Montana, as well as the Casper Wildcatters, who are in automatically as the host team.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost yesterday afternoon at San Diego 3-1.

The Rocks are off today, and start a 6-game homestand tomorrow with the first of 3 games vs. Kansas City.

Then on Monday, the team will start a 3-game series vs. Tampa Bay.
