Jentel reports they will skip the tricks this October and offer the public a real treat with a very special Jentel Presents.
The artists presenting this month had such an amazing Wyoming experience last time they were at Jentel, they are all coming back together to show an exhibition at SAGE Community Arts.
Conversations of the Thousand Acres exhibition will be on view from Oct. 22, through Nov. 23. Jentel Presents will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., at SAGE Community Arts in Sheridan. This community outreach program will feature visual presentations and readings by the returning cohort of residents at the Jentel Artist Residency Program. Light refreshments will be provided. Jentel invites the community to bring lunch and enjoy this presentation. Jentel Presents is open to all who wish to join.
This month’s presenters include Frank Sheehan, a painter from Ridgewood, NY. Sheehan ’s lines connect his past with his present and reflect his journey in the search for the sublime in nature.
Karen Marston, a painter from Brooklyn, NY. Growing up in Southern California, the ocean was so affecting for Marston. Something about the expansive beauty of this part of WY gives her a similar feeling.
Colleen Blackard,a mixed media artist from Round Rock, TX. Blackard’s work recalls dreams and memories of the natural world, utilizing methods of monotype, drawing, painting, and scenic art to connect external and internal landscapes.
Amy Robson, a multidisciplinary artist from London, UK. London-based Robson creates paintings of particular places that consider the uncertainty and strangeness of being alive in the modern world.
David Naimon, a writer from Portland, OR. Naimon is a writer and host of the literary podcast Between the Covers where he interviews writers from around the world.
The Jentel Artist Residency Program accepts applications twice a year from visual artists in all media and writers in all genres for a three-week residency. A residency includes comfortable accommodation; common living, dining, and recreation areas; a private workspace, and a stipend to help defray expenses during the program.
