The Whitney Center for the Arts to present Wyoming Baroque: The Golem
In conjunction with the WYO Film Festival on Oct. 3, The Whitney Center for the Arts will present the performance of the Wyoming Baroque: The Golem, in Kinnison Hall.
This unique concert experience features the premiere of a new musical score composed by Sheridan College’s own Director of Strings and the Music Director of Wyoming Baroque Dr. Mark Elliot Bergman.
His piece will be performed live by Wyoming Baroque and presented along with a screening of the 1920 Expressionist silent film classic The Golem.
The film is set in the Jewish ghetto of Prague circa 1600. The film narrates Rabbi Judah Loew’s attempts to animate a mysterious and dangerous clay creature.

According to Bergman, the instruments with which the ensemble performs are all replicas of 17th-century instruments, consistent with the film’s setting and the baroque style of music.
The performance will be held Oct. 3 beginning at 4 p.m. in Kinnison Hall in the Whitney Center for the Arts. To purchase tickets, click here.
