Senator Barrasso: ‘Republicans are Putting More Money in Your Pockets’

During a speech on the Senate Floor Tuesday, U.S. Senator John Barrasso, Senate Majority Whip, said Republicans are taking action to lower costs and put more money in the pockets of Americans. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the national average of gas is around $4.50 per gallon and diesel has reached record highs near $6.50 per gallon.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, grocery prices rose 2.2 percent from a year ago and are projected to continue to rise in the coming months. The price of ground beef in August reached $7.16 a pound, a 7.9 percent increase from August of 2025.
