Powder River Fire District Recognizes Johnson County Commissioner

Powder River Fire District (PRFD), based in Kaycee, recognized the Johnson County Commission at their recent meeting, thanking them for their support of the district protecting the southern half of the county.

Anita Bartlett, grants coordinator for the district, spoke to the commissioners about the recognition.

Bartlett said the old extrication tools were taken to the Lynch station to replace the ones there.

Bartlett was asked about this year’s fire season in southern Johnson County.

She said they have been busy but not as busy as they anticipated to be considering the drought.

Last year they were at 37 calls while this year they had 54.
