Utah Man Arraigned in District Court for Meth Distribution

A 70-year-old Utah man was arraigned in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan Thursday for methamphetamine distribution. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The State alleges that between June 1 and June 10 of this year, David Young conspired with persons known and unknown, to deliver methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. Young, at Thursday’s arraignment hearing, pleaded not guilty to one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a three-day jury trial for February 22, 2027. A pretrial conference hearing will take place January 21 at 9 am. Young’s bond was continued on the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Young’s arrest was the result of an investigation by special agents with the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Sheridan County. Young allegedly brought the meth from Utah and was selling it out of a hotel room in Sheridan. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to 25,000.
