The Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) connects donors with charitable causes to strengthen communities across the state.

As the Associate Director of Donor Stewardship, part of Salvador Madrigal’s duties is to connect donors with the causes that reflect their values most.

Established in 1989 and based in Laramie, the foundation manages funds that support nonprofit organizations, scholarships and needs in Wyoming’s communities.

To accomplish this mission statewide, the foundation works through a system involving a state board and six local boards throughout Wyoming, including the Sheridan-Johnson Local Board, which helps identify needs and support nonprofit organizations in both counties.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Pulse, Chair for the Sheridan – Johnson Counties Local Board, Steve Reimann, said he was approached to join the board over a decade ago. Since that time, Reimann said he has seen the impact the foundation has on Wyoming’s communities and people who dedicate their lives to make their cities and towns a better place to live for everyone. People such as Carla Crayton and Treylah Smith, who founded the Sheridan Foster Parent Exchange.

No donation is too small, Madrigal said. Donors can establish funds to support specific organizations, communities or causes, while the foundation manages those resources to provide charitable support over time and many in perpetuity.
