At the October 14 meeting of the SCSD#3 Board of Trustees, several topics were discussed. One board member was absent.

Superintendent Jennifer Strong shared some data to the board, saying that A/C School has experienced some growth. She said that they entered last year with 49 students as of October 1 of this year they are certified with 70 students.

She talked about the graduation policy as mandated by the WDE, and Arvada-Clearmont school’s graduation rates, and saying with the recent growth, the cohorts she quoted would change in the upcoming years.

In her activities report to the board, Activities Director Morgan Kremers reported that the A/C student athletes have been working hard and giving their best effort throughout their seasons!

She said that the football boys had a game delay due to the powerful rain last Friday but were able to play their game. They fell short to Powell but the boys played very well! Junior high girls volleyball has been going very well. They are getting better each day and playing hard.

The high school volleyball team had to cancel two weekends of games unfortunately due to not having enough players. The team is going to focus on conference games in hopes to be regional qualifiers and potentially state qualifiers.

She added that due to the low number of participants this year for high school girls basketball and high school boys basketball, ACHS will combine with Buffalo High School for those who are interested in participating in those winter sports.

Board Chairman Kris Mallie asked if the Clearmont athletes could be combined with the Kaycee teams, and Superintendent Strong replied,

Timmothy Tanner, transportation director, in his report to the board of trustees, said that there have been some exciting changes within the transportation department.

He said that SCSD#3 is now registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association (FMCSA) as an official training area for in house CDL training. He added that they will have their first trainee scheduled to go take his test for his official CDL on Oct 16.

He said he has also installed new three-camera safety systems into half of MPV’s that haul students with the other half to be completed in the next couple weeks. These camera systems include a forward facing camera, an interior facing camera and a camera facing out the rear of the vehicle.

The system not only has voice recording but also offers a GPS system that records speed and location of the vehicle. All of these features are designed to protect the drivers, passengers, and the school district.

For community engagement, on November 4, there will be a community lunch at the school.

There will be a work session, if needed, on November 10, 2026 and the next meeting will be November 11, 2026. Both will be held at 6:00 p.m.
