Sheridan Woman Receives Split-Sentence for Multiple Drug Charges
A 47-year Sheridan County woman received a split-sentence in Fourth Judicial District Court for multiple drug charges. At a recent sentencing hearing, District Court Judge Darci Phillips sentenced Shannon Nesheim to 4 to 6 years in prison for delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, 4 to 5 years in prison for each of three counts of endangering children for knowingly being in possession of methamphetamine with children present in her home, and 180 days in jail for misdemeanor marijuana possession.
The sentences for the four felonies were suspended in lieu of a 180-day split-sentence to be followed by three years of supervised probation. All of the sentences will run concurrent to one another. Nesheim was ordered to pay $1,225 in court costs and assessments and was given credit for 50 days time served of presentence confinement. Nesheim will not have to serve her 130-day jail sentence immediately, as the Court allowed her to check into the Sheridan County Detention Center on November 1 so that she would be able to attend her father’s funeral on October 31.
According to the affidavit or probable cause, Nesheim’s arrest was the result of an investigation by DCI into her role in distributing methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. A controlled buy was arranged by DCI where Nesheim sold methamphetamine to a confidential informant while she was babysitting three children in her home. The criminal activity occurred between November 1 of 2025 and January 23, 2026.
