SAGE Executive Director Provides Update to City Council
Each year the City of Sheridan accepts applications for funding through the General Purpose Excise Tax program. The City this year received 20 applications for GPET funds from various local nonprofits and government agencies. At their regular business meeting in March, the City Council approved 18 of the 20 service agreements for a total of $503,500. One of the nonprofits that received funding was SAGE.
During Monday’s City Council meeting, SAGE Executive Director Jill Benson provided an update to Mayor Rich Bridger and the Council on how they are utilizing the $15,000 in GPET funding they were allocated.
Continuation of the General Purpose Excise Tax will be on the ballot for the November 3 General Election. If continuation of the GPET is approved, the revenue collection will be from July 2027 through June 2031.
