House Draw Fire Grows To 163,000 Acres Plus; Voluntary Evacuation Advisory Still In Place For SE Sheridan County

The House Draw Fire which started southeast of Buffalo is continuing to spread in Johnson County.

As of 11am on Thursday, August 22nd, the fire has burned more than 163-thousand acres, with 0% containment reported.

The fire has impacted areas as far north as Tipperary Road, which is on the north side of I-90, and as far south as Lower Sussex.

Evacuation Orders remain in place for Johnson County for those North of I-90, to the Northern and Eastern Johnson County line areas, those who live in the Buffalo-Sussex cutoff area, the Prairie Land Village and residents between Cook Road and I-90.

Sheridan County Emergency Management has issued a Voluntary Evacuation Advisory, for Southeast Sheridan County, including the towns of Clearmont and Arvada.

Shelter is available at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center in Buffalo.

Sheridan High School has also announced that the school can open up gyms for those who need shelter and the parking lot is available for vehicle and trailer storage.

The Holly Seed lot south of the school is also available.

I-90 between Buffalo and Gillette is open as of 4:30pm.
