U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) released the following statement in response to President Biden’s State of the Union address:

“Wyoming families have had enough of President Biden’s blame game. Tonight, we heard this president brag and boast about a record that is failing the hardworking men and women of our state. This president is causing crisis after crisis.”

“Yet, President Biden didn’t talk about these crises tonight (Tuesday, February 7th). He ignored the pain and suffering of families across the nation. President Biden wants Americans to forget that his out-of-touch policies pushed prices to a 40-year high, crushed Wyoming energy production, and caused the worst border crisis in American history. Instead, he read empty words off of a teleprompter when struggling families need real solutions.”

“Unlike Joe Biden and the Democrats, Senate Republicans are focused on fighting for Wyoming families and for every American. We are working to stop his reckless spending, make life more affordable, unleash Wyoming energy, and secure the border. It’s time for Joe Biden to work with us to help Americans recover from the nightmare he caused.”

U.S. Senator Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) issued the following statement following President Joe Biden’s State of the Union address.

“Last fall, the American people elected a divided government. That means leaders on both sides of the aisle have a responsibility to set aside partisan differences to tackle the very real challenges our nation faces. While President Biden continues to claim the mantle of the ‘unity President,’ we have yet to see him come to the table in good faith to work with Republicans.”

“President Biden’s attack on domestic energy production has stifled Wyoming’s energy sector, creating negative ripple effects across nearly every sector of our economy. Both democrats and republicans continue to spend recklessly, plummeting our nation further into crippling debt. Inflation continues to plague every American family at the same time as our economy stays stagnant. China continues to pose a very real threat to our national security, as well as our place as the world financial leader. And our porous border continues to go unchecked.”

“I stand ready to work with President Biden to unleash Wyoming energy production, grow and diversify our rural economies and set our country back on a path of fiscal sanity.”

“President Biden and his Administration have also called on Congress to regulate digital assets. Senator Gillibrand and I look forward to working with the President to move forward our bipartisan framework that will provide important regulatory clarity to the industry and essential protections for consumers. In the wake of devastating collapses by bad actors, it is beyond time for Congress to step up and pass meaningful, comprehensive legislation.”

The Sarah Huckabee Sander response to the State of the Union address perfectly displayed the differences between the parties today. Thirty minutes of divisive culture wars rant attacking black, gay and women’s rights and immigrants. Repeatedly waving “Woke” as if it were a club and claiming as her banner achievements removing Latinx and the straw man of CRT from the state house. Not a single policy or proposal mentioned in the entire speech. Her disingenuous attempt to claim credit for the Little Rock Nine ( which happened 26 years before she was born) at the same time she dedcried bowing down to the Woke flags of the rainbow and BLM. In the end “a tale, told by an idiot full of sound and fury and signifying nothing. It’s the banner of the post Trump RQP.
Lummis appears to be willing to, at least, to entertain the idea of by partisanship. Barrasso has clearly drunk the Kool Aid to the dregs.

You are spot on on your analogy. Sanders made a huge derriere out of herself on TV by pointing the gnarly finger at others…instead of the mirror. Politics in this country has turned into a dog and pony show while the entire world watches the ship sink slowly beneath the waves.Politicos are nothing more than cut up chicken in a sack of flour…they all come out the same.

Biden ran the GOP off the cliff in his state of the union address…great speech…from what Biden indirectly said he will seek a second term…and he will most likely win in 2024 since Trump is fiercely attacking Desantis and dividing the GOP again

Wouldn’t it be a surprise if the Repubs actually developed some positive legislation? Huckabee was all about posing an imaginary malicious and misguided Biden agenda, to be countered by sincere god-fearing republicans. Leads me to recall the Catholic church embracing ignorance as Galileo presented some new data regarding earth, humanity and the solar system. The party message is “get riled up,” listen to the party, be against new perspectives, hold on to the current GOP dogma and don’t think on your own. I think Barrasso, who has proven to be solely self-serving, has a lot to lose if the GOP turned over a new leaf and began to act with integrity, honor and respect for knowledge.

I’ve got a few problems with the state of the union speech given by Joe Biden, and it has nothing to do with politics. Can ANYONE point to ANYTHING he has done, that has pushed the country in a positive direction, since he took office? IF so-please enlighten me.
    * We have 220,000+ showing up at the Mexican border every month, which is (I believe) about 3-4X what we had under the previous president. This almost half the population of WY….EVERY MONTH.
    * We’ve strangled domestic energy production, with no transitional bridge, as the method of implementing broader use of “alternative energy” we have not come close to efficiently generating, distributing, or utilizing. In the process we have also made ourselves more exposed to fluctuating global supply and security issues.
    * We have record inflation, in part fueled by the last point and a very large and looming recession that virtually all major investment firms (and even high-tech companies) agree on.
    * Even with record low unemployment, our GDP is throttled by lack of workforce, yet we propose to give away billions of dollars to forgive student loans in a job rich environment! Again, fueling debt and inflation.
    * And the stupidest….and perhaps most egregious…we let a Chinese surveillance balloon survey our country west to east while taking no action. In fact, the government would not have even TOLD us it was there, if someone in Billings didn’t start asking questions and ringing bells.
If his handlers had any ethics, they would have cancelled the speech and given him a script that said he would report back when he had something of value to report. Or perhaps, maybe just spell out in large, widely-spaced font, his resignation.

answer to Scott Thomas…he stuffed lots of money into republican and democrat representatives hands (well they actually held their hands out…then he stuffed money into their hands…that federal money will pave the way for deteriorating infrastructure and in the process create millions of jobs…as for the migrants?…interesting to note there are “Help Wanted” signs up around every…record inflation?…your home may be worth more along with everything else you own…print more money…lol..those immigrants kids will be as American as apple pie on the 4th of July…PRC spy balloon?….do not be concerned PRC just released a statement…according to today’s news release it was just a “Weather Baroon” “Totary Not For Spying”

Curious- you rail against immigrants on one side of your mouth and complain about the lack of an adequate on the other. Do understand the concept of irony?

answer to Ray Olson…regulated immigration is good…it’s just not being regulated properly…too much of a good thing is not good…thousands upon thousands of people streaming to the border is not good…everything in moderation…I remember when immigrants received work permits and worked the fields up in Montana each year…that was good for the land owners and it was good for the immigrant workers…democrats and republicans alike have failed collectively figure out a solution…both parties are to blame…and it’s time to quit pointing fingers and playing the “blame game” it’s way past time for both democrats and republicans to mitigate the immigration problem…there will be no perfect solution

This President has caused one crisis after another for the past two years and is running America into the ground.I just hope this great country can survive another 2 years of president Biden and his radical policies. Hopefully we will get some relief in the 2024 Presidential election!!!

reply to David Beld…this country will survive another six years of Joe Biden or if Biden does not run for office in 2024 then six term congressman Hakeem Jeffries from New York will be the next president of the United States
