Breaking News: Ongoing situation

Sheridan Chief of Police Travis Koltiska has asked the public to avoid traveling north on Sheridan Avenue past 5th Street and respect police boundaries and barriers.

The Chief said there is no longer a threat to the public at this time, the situation is contained but ongoing.  

The SPD is being assisted by the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the Gillette Police Department and the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office.  

More information will be released as the situation develops.
