Yesterday, the City of Sheridan declared a snow alert. According to Sheridan’s Director of Public Works, Hanns Mercer, crews will be removing snow from curb to curb on streets marked as an emergency snow route. Due to the harsh weather conditions resulting in a large amount of precipitation, this snow alert has been extended to 12 p.m. Feb. 18.

The Sheridan Department of Public Works is requesting that residents not park on the streets of these routes while the snow alert is in effect.

Per city ordinance, The Sheridan City Council is authorized to establish a snow and ice control policy upon any street within the city emergency snow routes whereupon, when signs have been erected giving notice thereof, it is unlawful for any person to stop, stand, park or leave unattended any motor vehicle upon such snow route immediately after a snow alert has been declared until the snow has been plowed to the curb line.
