New numbers from the Wyoming Department of Education, show that state-wide enrollment numbers for this school year are down compared to last year.
The Department reports that as of October 1st, overall enrollment in Wyoming schools are down by 352 students for the 2022-23 school year.
Kindergarten, 3rd, as well as 5th through 9th grades reported decreases, with kindergarten having the biggest drop, down by 264.
All other grade levels reported an increase, with the biggest one in 10th grade, which is up by 246.
In a review of the data, 28 school districts had a dip in enrollment, 19 increased, and one reported no change.
In North-Central Wyoming, Sheridan County School District 2 was up 39 students and School District 1 was up by 31.
School District 3 was down by 14, and Johnson County was down by 11.
