Sheridan County YMCA Executive Director Liz Cassiday announced that the lion’s share of the construction at the Y is completed.
For seven years, the YMCA has been under construction and remodeling projects as part of their Vision 50 Campaign.
The campaign was organized to raise funds that would ensure another 50 years of use out of the facilities that house the YMCA. During a previous appearance on the program, Cassiday thanked the donors for their support, the members for their patience and the staff for all of their hard work.
After seven years of fundraising and hard work, Cassiday spoke on the improved facility.
Cassiday said the original skylight installed in 1985 above the old pool and new weight room will need to be replaced due to leaking. But in terms of functionality, the building and rooms are open and ready to be used by the community for the next 50 years.
