Wyoming Game and Fish Department Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt announced a hunter education instructor training will be held in Sheridan April 17 and 18.

The training will be held Friday evening and all day Saturday. It is appropriate for new instructors as well as currently certified instructors and will focus on teaching internet completion courses, known as ICCs. These courses are the second part of the two-part blended hunter education program.

Schmidt said the blended course includes an online curriculum that students complete at their own pace. After finishing the online portion, students print a completion certificate and bring it to the in-person ICC, where additional topics not covered online are presented before the final test is administered.

The Friday evening session will be conducted as an actual ICC class with students and taught by certified instructors. Schmidt said this allows new instructors to observe how topics are arranged and presented and to see the types of questions commonly asked.

The Saturday portion will focus specifically on instructors, including how to set up a class, operate the registration database and understand department policies.
