A Big Horn Middle Schooler who came up just short of a free throw shooting national championship last year, is back to try to finish the job.
For the 2nd year in a row, seventh grader Olivia Brogdon has qualified to compete in the 2025 Elks Hoop Shoot National Finals, which will take place on Saturday, April 26th in Chicago.
The Elks Hoop Shoot is a free throw shooting contest for children ages 8 to 13.
Contestants shoot 25 free throws, with the highest score winning, and a shoot-off will take place in the event of a tie.
From this past December through March, Brogdon competed in the girls 12-13 age category and has won at the school level, county, district, state, and recently the regional level, which was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado and consisted of state champs from Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska and Kansas.
Last year, Brogdon was National Runner-Up in her age category, missing by 1 shot.
Her older sister Maggie was National Runner-Up in the same age category 2 years ago.
