News ReleaseSheridan College is proud to announce that Ryen Sheppick, a standout rodeo athlete from Pierre, South Dakota, has signed a letter of intent to compete for the college’s rodeo team beginning fall 2025. Under the leadership of newly appointed head coach Bobby Harris, Sheppick plans to showcase her talents in team roping, breakaway roping, and barrel racing.
Sheppick has had a successful high school rodeo career, qualifying for the South Dakota High School Rodeo state finals in multiple events. Her accomplishments include the 2024 All Around South Dakota High School Rodeo (SDHSRA) Champion, 2024 SDHSRA Girls Cutting Champion, 2024 SDHSRA Breakaway Champion, and 2024 SDHSRA Reined Cow Horse Champion. Her dedication and skill have made her a prominent figure in the rodeo community, and her commitment to excellence aligns perfectly with the values of Sheridan College’s rodeo program, according to Coach Harris.
Harris, a Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame inductee and world champion team roper and steer roper, expressed excitement about Sheppick joining the team. “The Sheridan Generals Rodeo Team is very excited to have Ryen join our team. We look forward to watching her grow as a Sheridan General. She will be a great asset to the team with her top notch skills in Breakaway, Team Roping and Barrel Racing. She has the skill set we are seeking to help build our team. Go General’s,” said Harris.
