Strut your Mutt and help raise funds for three organizations
The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter, The Unleashed Foundation and the Sheridan Community Land Trust have partnered to give you a chance to Strut your Mutt.
The Strut your Mutt event will be on Aug. 21, and will host a 10 mile bike ride (for those without dogs), a 5 mile jog/hike with your dog on Soldier Ridge Trail.
Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter Executive Director Jill Moriarty.
According to Alexis Petrie from SCLT, the organization joined the event to showcase the dog friendly SCLT public trails in Sheridan.
The Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter will also have adoptable dogs on location. Marian Eccles, owner and operator of The Unleashed Foundation told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, flex leads may not be the best idea for the Strut your Mutt event.
Tickets for the event cost $30. The proceeds from the event will be split evenly between the three nonprofit organizations.
According to the SCLT, the 10-mile bike from Black Tooth Park to Soldier Ridge will start at 10 am. Shelter dogs will start at 10:15 am and the hike/jog will start at 10:30 am.
The hike will be Black Tooth Park to Hoot Loop, about 5 miles. Hikers and Joggers are encouraged to bring their own dogs to walk the trails.
