Game and Fish make changes to website, improving security for users

The Wyoming Game and Fish big game application period opened on Jan. 4. Resident and nonresident hunters can begin to submit applications for elk, deer, antelope, spring turkey, moose, bighorn sheep and mountain goat.

Earlier this month on Feb. 4, changes to the Game and Fish website now require everyone logging in to apply for or buy a license to create a user account.

The process involves setting up a unique username and password. The move to login accounts on the website will improve security and allow users to personalize the site for their needs.

According to Wyoming Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt, features will be added to the site in coming months that will allow users to personalize a ‘dashboard’ of many activities requiring a login to use, such as applying for a license, receiving CWD test results and more.

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Schmidt spoke on the website updates.

The recent personalization changes to the site are only the beginning, according to Schmidt. Game and Fish plan to make several improvements to the website throughout the 2021 year.
