Two Veteran’s Day Talks at Kearney Hall

The Fort Phil Kearny/Bozeman Trail Association will present two Veteran’s Day programs on Sunday, November 8.

The programs will be held at Kearney Hall, and will begin at 1 p.m. HB Puckett, retired U.S. Navy officer, will present, “The Splendid Little War, the Spanish – American War.”

His talk will include how Wyoming soldiers contributed to the war, as the Wyoming National Guard was deployed in 1898 to go to the Philippines. Company G was from Sheridan, and Company C was from Buffalo.

Following Puckett’s program, Susan Wells, retired Navy officer, will speak on “Antarctica: US Navy & Wyoming Ties.” Several Wyoming National Guard and Air National Guard members have served in Antarctica.

This event is free and open to the public.
