Order to Show Cause Hearing

An order to show cause hearing on the State’s petition to revoke the order of release for Amber Walker was held Thursday in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. The State filed a petition to revoke Walker’s order of release because she was arrested for driving under the influence on October 12 while out on bond for a felony theft charge.

At the hearing, Walker denied the allegation made by the State. A hearing to determine if Walker violated the terms and conditions of her bond was not immediately set. Both the State and defense counsel were in agreement that a global resolution for the revocation allegation and the felony theft charge would happen soon.

The underlying theft charge is from this past June when Walker was arrested for allegedly stealing over $1,400 in items that were staged outside of First United Methodist Church in Sheridan in preparation for a fundraising yard sale. The alleged theft occurred on June 6. Felony theft is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
