On November 3, Ucross announced that the annual Ucross Community Christmas Celebration is returning with beloved traditions to a new location on the artist residency grounds. The free, family-friendly event will be held at Ucross’s Rock Studios on Saturday, December 12, from 4-6 p.m.

“The Ucross Community Christmas Celebration draws more and people each year,” said Caitlin Addlesperger, Ucross President and Executive Director. “After more than 500 guests joined us last year, our team decided to re-imagine the festivities, so we can safely welcome everyone who wishes to get into the holiday spirit at Ucross.”

Starting at 4 p.m., guests will park by the Ucross Art Gallery, located at 30 Big Red Lane, and enjoy a festive hayride to a winter wonderland at the Rock Studios.

Beloved returning traditions will include a Longmire Christmas story reading by best-selling author and Ucross neighbor Craig Johnson, performances by local musicians, children’s crafts, festive refreshments and a fireworks display by Bruce Burns.

New traditions to love will include a pop-up gallery featuring artwork by December artists-in-residence, printmaking demonstrations and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus. For the first time ever, the event will feature an outdoor winter artisan market, complete with roasted chestnuts, warm drinks and artisanal products by Ucross alumni and local artists.

This event is open to the public, with free tickets available at ucross.org. In the spirit of giving, attendees are encouraged to bring canned goods and nonperishable food items to donate, which Ucross will distribute to local food pantries in Sheridan, Buffalo and Clearmont.
