HubFest Will Entertain and Educate

September is National Senior Center Month, highlighting the programs, services and connections senior centers provide in communities across the country.

Approximately 26% of Sheridan residents are age 60 or older, and The Hub on Smith serves more than 3,300 people, or approximately 10% of Sheridan County’s population.

Hub on Smith Executive Director Dustin Stephens made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to invite the community to HubFest, a new fall festival that opens the Hub’s doors to everyone in the community to learn about the programs, the facility and the challenges that some seniors face every day and how the Hub works to ease those challenges and keep seniors living independently longer.

Stephens said the Hub’s services can benefit entire families and that many people in the community simply don’t know the variety and availability of those services. Staff will be on hand to answer questions, give information and provide insight to the Hub’s programs, all while visitors enjoy free food and games.

HubFest will begin at 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Hub on Smith. Learn more and keep up to date on schedules and programs by clicking here.
