SCLT Seeks Volunteers for Huson House Clean Up
Lend a hand and help preserve a piece of Sheridan County history! On Saturday, August 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, you can join Sheridan Community Land Trust (SCLT) volunteers at the Historic Huson Homestead, home to a beautiful two-story stone house built in 1891 by Sarah Pattengell and the Doc Huson family.
This special site needs a little TLC, and they are calling on volunteers to help board up windows, secure the door, whack weeds, and tackle other light maintenance tasks.
SCLT will provide water, snacks, and some tools—but if you have chore gloves or tools of your own, bring them along! It’s a great way to give back, get outside, and help steward one of our community’s historic treasures. More hands make lighter work—we’d love to have yours!
The Huson Homestead is approximately two miles north of Clearmont, at 3581 US Highway 14-16. The Homestead is on the East side of the highway. Look for the grove of trees and interpretive sign.

Looks like the house is south of Clearmont not north (article says it’s north of Clearmont). Thought people might be confused and have trouble finding it.
