Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett, in his report to the Buffalo City Council during their recent meeting, thanked the community for being responsible during the New Year’s Eve holiday celebrations with only one DUI arrest made that night.

Bissett was concerned with the high rate of suicide in the state and especially locally.

Bissett also reported there were 2,286 calls to dispatch in the month of December of which 495 were responded to by his officers.

He said there were five arrests during the month including the DUI on New Year’s Eve.
