Jo Co Commission Making Final Plans for New EMC

During their recent regular meeting, the Johnson County Commission wanted to update the public on where their search sits for replacing outgoing Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly.

Commission Chair Bill Novotny explained further.

Connolly announced earlier this fall that she would be retiring from the position in early 2024.

Novotny, in a separate interview, said the county has extended an offer to a “very qualified” individual and submitted the name to Governor Mark Gordon for his approval.

Novotny said the commission will make an announcement with the governor’s approval.

According to Connolly, her official last day on the job will be Thursday, February 29.
