This morning, the City of Sheridan declared a snow alert, effective immediately. According to Sheridan’s Director of Public Works, Hanns Mercer, crews will be removing snow from curb to curb on streets marked as an emergency snow route. Due to the harsh weather conditions resulting in a large amount of precipitation, this snow alert will be in effect until further notice.

The Sheridan Department of Public Works is asking residents to not park on the streets of these routes while the snow alert is in effect.

Per city ordinance, The Sheridan City Council is authorized to establish a snow and ice control policy upon any street within the city emergency snow routes whereupon, when signs have been erected giving notice thereof, it is unlawful for any person to stop, stand, park or leave unattended any motor vehicle upon such snow route immediately after a snow alert has been declared until the snow has been plowed to the curb line.

Please consider avon street as a snow route. This street is rather busy during school hours.
