After unseating Liz Cheney for the Republican nomination back in the August primary, an attorney from Fort Laramie will be Wyoming’s lone US House Representative in Washington.
Harriet Hageman who is a land and water attorney and has won many legal battles against the federal government in those categories, won the spot by defeating Democratic challenger Lynette Grey Bull.
She ran for Governor in 2018 and lost in the republican primary against Mark Gordon, but was endorsed by former President Donald Trump in her current campaign and defeated Cheney by about 38% of the vote in the primary.
Hageman has usually had a similar platform stance to those of Wyoming US Senators John Barasso and Cynthia Lummis, advocating for Wyoming’s oil, gas and coal industries, and generally opposing federal regulation.
