Sheridan Thrive 2035 jumps into the next phase
All the way back in July of this year, the Sheridan Economic Development Task Force and the Wyoming Business Council, began the process of conducting a Sheridan review known as Thrive 2035.
Since that time the review has been available through multiple formats and websites. The task force has been present at 3rd Thursdays and the survey is still available on the Sheridan County webpage as well as the Sheridan Chamber of Commerce’s site.
The survey was somewhat of a phase one, according to Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Dixie Johnson. The intent is to learn the public’s ideas of what the future looks like for Sheridan.
The Sheridan Community Review Thrive 2035 contains only three questions.
What do you value about your community?
What do you value about the Sheridan area?
What would you like to see in the future approximately 10-15 years from now?
The survey also asked for a zip code, allowing the EDTF to know if those taking the survey were residents or visitors to Sheridan County.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, both Johnson and Center for a Vital Community at Sheridan College Executive Director Amy Albrecht spoke on the next phase of the review, a series of facilitated forums or “listening sessions” that will provide additional feedback and help clarify some of the survey responses.
According to Johnson, Wyoming Business Council staff will gather live feedback from a cross-section of area groups so that all community stakeholders will have opportunities to provide their input.
Albrecht informed listeners that taking the survey is not required to attend one of these listening sessions.
Leadership throughout the greater Sheridan region have shown support for this review and encourage as many residents and visitors to participate as possible.
According to Johnson, The Business Council may also use the feedback to support future grant applications and help community leaders gain information on available funding and other resources to support strategic plan objectives.
